I came across a WordPress plugin for affiliates called WordPress Affiliate Pro. The good thing is that it looks like a decent tool to streamline your affiliate efforts on blogs.

The downside is that it’s not free, like most WordPress plugins. It will run you $97.

Here is their pitch:

When you add a single affiliate link to your site, you have to manually open the text file containing an article, edit it, add the HTML code for the link, save it and then finally upload it to your web server or blog. It’ll take you 4-5 minutes if you’re really quick, and likely 10-15 minutes if you are still ‘figuring it out’… no wonder most people give up soon after starting. However…

WP Affiliate Pro can instantly add 1,000’s of compelling affiliate links to your blogs without touching a single line of HTML code and without editing your posts. Just imagine how much time this feature alone will save you.

Basically, it’s a tool where you can tie certain keywords to URLs, and whenever that keyword appears in your blog, it will be automatically linked to the URL you’ve specified.

Nice concept, but not new. I read about a similar program from Joel Comm a couple years ago called ContextCash.

I used the service for a while myself, and recommended it back in November 2005.

I decided it wasn’t for me, as I like to link to different places with certain keywords depending on a particular blog post.

But if you’re looking for a solution that will automate affiliate efforts for you, have a look at either of these programs.
