I met up with Stephanie Agresta, aka Internet Geek Girl, at the recent LinkShare Symposium and she shared some thoughts about why affiliate marketers should care about social media.
“As you know, I am really passionate about social media, and I see that it has huge future potential for traffic and reach building.
Not only that, but I happen to think it is really fun.
I also think that affiliate marketers should care about the community that they can build within a social media world.
Using a best practices approach, being really authentic and transparent, you get to build reach and build community, and also have a good time while doing it.”

reply to this commentSocial Marketing is definitely a must for all web and blog masters. At the very least you get a backlink, especially from the do-follow social sites, of which there are several and at the very best you get traffic which is often times targeted traffic because of the way these sites categorize content. And, social marketing is a great way to promote sites and expose them to the large amounts of traffic that several of the social sites have like, Digg and StumbleUpon
Thanks Shawn!

We are having a big surge in social marketing volume on Advaliant. I think it happening faster than Jupiter anticipates. Especially as new tools for creating more effective relevance targeting come into the market.
We are very active in using social media for building our reputation and community. Stephanie is spot on regarding its importance. This is going to be a great mechanism for further creating honesty, transparency and integrity in our industry.
Thanks for the great post Shawn
