What is Affiliate Marketing?

by on January 25, 2011

Jim Kukral was on the scene at Affiliate Summit West 2011, which took place January 9-11, 2011 in Las Vegas, NV to talk to people about the opportunities in the affiliate marketing industry and the Affiliate Summit conference.

Thanks to Jim Kukral, as well as Kim Riedell, Chris Brogan, Rosalind Gardner, and Todd Farmer for helping out.

Affiliate Summit West 2011 024

In the video, Jim explains how an affiliate can be somebody with a website on a topic like a sports team or hobby features relevant ads.

And then when a visitor clicks through to purchase the product being advertised, that website owner earns a percentage of the sale.

It’s old-fashioned commission-based sales with an online twist.

Awesome Video. Yes, affiliate marketing allows you to work whenever you want and wherever you want. That according to me is the best advantage of being in this industry.

A good introduction to an obvious growing market. Affiliate marketing is utilizing the internet to earn commission, an old business model, although the new twist is that there is no need to leave you home, you do not have to go door to door, you don’t have to maek appointments, organize your travel schedule, pay for gas or transportation, etc, etc.
