Video has been the next big thing in affiliate marketing for a good four years or so, but it still hasn’t arrived.
Or maybe it has in the form of VidAff.com, a new tool from affiliate Mark Silliman of SpadOut.com.
He’s a big believer and practitioner of the convergence of video and affiliate marketing and thinks video content will be core to affiliate marketing on both the affiliate side and the merchant side in the coming years.
As an affiliate, he has produced dozens of DIY bike films, and he stated they have paid off very well using the first version of his VidAff technology.
I asked Mark about his stats with affiliate video, and he said outgoing clicks from the DIY videos range from ~$0.40-0.70 EPC, depending on the product and time of year.

What do you think of a video affiliate marketing tool that uses YouTube+Amazon:

Here’s a sample:

You just need a YouTube embed code & your Amazon Affiliate ID. You can then post this mashup to your blog/website or share it on social networks (Facebook, MySpace, LinkedIn).
Try it out & feel free to send me feedback- arun@ucubd.com
It’s a creative and interesting Internet Marketing idea to me. I am a newbie and Video Marketing is the next thing I wanna try and master. Shawn, I enjoy your video post in general, you have set up a great model yourself.
Oh, okay… That’s better then.
Thanks for double-checking, Shawn.
Just got confirmation – it is $0.40-0.70 per click.
I assumed he was saying that EPC was literally the earning per click, and not the version where it’s per 100 clicks – I’ll confirm.
Very interesting tool. Thanks for blogging about it.
BTW, the EPC range of $0.40-0.70 doesn’t sound too high…
Cool tool! Thank you for sharing this! At first I didn’t get what it was really all about but now I do lol. I’m sure it’s pretty effective!
Thanks!

Hi Brian -
No, these won’t carry over to YouTube – it’s for featuring on your site.
Do the added aff links work on YouTube? I’m guessing not. Thanks for the cool tip.
