Trying Out the Thesis WordPress Theme

Posted by Shawn Collins on January 21st, 2009 | 0 Comments

I was digging the latest blog theme at MissyWard.com and she mentioned that she was using the Thesis WordPress theme.

Since GeekCast.fm was looking a little stale with a Revolution theme that had been up there for over a year, I figured I’d give Thesis a try.

Don’t get me wrong – I really like the Revolution themes, and have no plans to change the one that’s up at FeedFront.com, but sometimes I itch for a blog facelift.

Anyhow, I’ve got to say I was pleasantly surprised. I’ve used many free and paid WordPress themes over the years, and I think Thesis has the slickest and easiest backend.

In addition to all kinds of design and other customization options from the menus, they have these things in there called “hooks” that enable you to customize even further, so long as you don’t mind playing with some basic code.

I didn’t feel like reading the documentation, so I searched for more info on “hooks” on Google and landed on a helpful post at Sugarrae.com, “Thesis Tutorial – Hooks for Dummies.”

So, if you’re looking for a new WordPress theme, check out what I did in a short period of time with Thesis on GeekCast.fm.

And they’ve got a Thesis affiliate program paying 33% commissions, too.
