The Lame Affiliate Program Line
There is a lot of buzz lately about New York’s “Amazon Tax,” and how it will impact affiliates, but one facet has been overlooked in the coverage I’ve read.
Retailers doing less than $10,000 a year through affiliate sales are exempt from the law, according to Internet Retailer.
So, I guess that establishes the point where a company is doing enough through their affiliate program to matter.
I wonder how New York will audit this sort of thing?
Anyhow, I think it’s sort of good for any company that makes it through this exception, but they have bigger issues, as far as I am concerned.
Their affiliate program is pretty lame if it is only doing $10,000 a year in affiliate referred sales.
That now means the affiliate program is below the poverty line for affiliate programs in New York.
