This week on the Brandmouthing podcast, I talk about the branding and tangible benefits of having a presence at industry conferences.
I think about this often, but it just jumped out at me as I was prepping for LinkShare Symposium NYC 2009. As I looked at the agenda, I got excited to see the DealMaker portion of it.

This is the focus of my day, and I will have a target list of merchants exhibiting, so I can hit their tables and work out some deals.
The companies not represented? Well, it’s not likely they’ll be getting much, if any, attention from me in the coming month. I’ll be busy with the companies that came out to meet with me.

Networking face to face is essential, even in an online business. It’s so important to get out there and meet the people you could be, or are, working with. It makes the ties that much stronger.
“Thanks for the post Shawn. Industry conferences are very important for networking with other professionals and marketing your business. Direct Agents is very active at numerous conferences and expositions throughout the year. Members of the company just returned from Boston and Orlando where they attended and had booths at the IRCE 2009 (http://blog.directagents.com/2009/06/direct-agents-offers-free-online-marketing-consultations-at-irce-09/) and the CCA Conference (http://blog.directagents.com/2009/06/the-sun-wasn%E2%80%99t-the-only-thing-shining-in-orlando-this-past-weekend/), respectively. Of course, we wouldn’t miss Affiliate Summit East—see you there!”
Nice post Shawn. It’s very important for networking and to do business. I wish I were there…
