The Audience Conference

by on August 24, 2009

I typically like to hold off on attending a new conference right out of the gate, so I can hear what people have to say about it. Not to mention there are so many shows I already attend. But one upcoming event instantly got my attention – the Audience Conference.

Audience Conference

As you can infer from the name, this show is about audiences, or rather reaching, addressing, and influencing audiences.

The Audience Conference is a place to learn from those who really understand audiences today. Bringing together some of the most exceptional people in a unique format riding the cusp of performance and conference while keeping you informed and entertained in equal measure. From the entertainers who engage audiences directly to the statisticians who measure them, to the technologists building tools to help us reach new and larger audiences and engage with them.

Delivering a unique understanding and examination of what audience is, the things that affect it and how throughout the ages changes in communication, science, engineering and technology have affected our ability to address an audience and influence it and the effects these changes have had on our society.

The roster of speakers includes Dan Farber of CBS News, Mike Arrington of TechCrunch, Jason Calacanis of Mahalo, Brian Clark of Copyblogger, Ethan Kaplan of Warner Bros. Records, Loren Feldman of 1938 Media, and Mike Watt, co-founder of rock bands the Minutemen (I think I still have an SST compilation on vinyl someplace with them), dos, and fIREHOSE.

The Audience Conference is taking place at the Hudson Theater in New York City on Friday, November 6th (right after ad:tech in NYC). There is also a limited opportunity to attend a VIP dinner with the speakers on Thursday, November 5th.

The early bird rate, ending on September 20, is $549. But Affiliate Summit is sponsoring the conference, and we have negotiated a 10% discount off the registration price. Use this code: AFFSUM

Space is limited, so be sure to register now for the Audience Conference to lock in your spot.

I’m really looking forward to this show. There’s a fantastic lineup and a really diverse angle. Not your typical affiliate conference, but still really great for all marketers.
