Thank You, Arnold Schwarzenegger

Commission Junction has created a “Thank You, Arnold” group on Facebook to show appreciation of Governor Schwarzenegger for his recent veto on the advertising tax bill in California.

Well stated Shawn, the above comment is the attitude which put the state in the situation it is in. California needs to promote business and give incentives to business to thrive and come to California. Businesses are the ones who hire and pay people, increasing the states tax base (revenue).

So the state was in great shape before Arnold? Gray Davis didn’t get recalled because he was doing a fantastic job.

Anyhow, if affiliates were fired from Amazon, Overstock and a long list of other affiliate programs, there would be no advertising tax collected.

Further, these California residents would have less income to tax, and some may well have needed to turn to public assistance.

Due to the complexities in the execution of this sort of law, it could very well result in a net loss for the state.

I don’t want to upset Conan but the tax was necessary cause of the bad policies of his administration that have led the state into turmoil. That’s my positive thought for the day. :)
