After a couple failed attempts, I’ve become a YouTube Partner. This is something I’ve been interested in for a while for a couple reasons.
The YouTube Partner Program enables me to brand my channel on YouTube, as well having an option to activate revenue sharing in my videos.
And since I’m a YouTube Partner, my videos are now available (user name: affiliatetip) as Google AdSense Video units.
Check out my YouTube channel at http://www.youtube.com/affiliatetip.

Gratz on the inclusion.
reply to this commentI’d think the traffic gen and branding would outweigh any rev share…

You’ve watched about 1,300 vids?
That’s a lot!
WoW… that’s great news Shawn ! congrats !
reply to this commentNot sure when they started keeping track of videos watched, but it's got to be a while.
I do watch lots though – anything affiliate related that I come across and plenty of random stuff.
reply to this commentThanks Dan – now I need to to customize it.
reply to this commentHey Shawn,
thanks for coming through. Just last week on http://www.Change.gov,I was successfully able to post a comment with a link back to http://www.ShawnDrewry.com,which I did see visible on the change dot gov website. They are using http://www.intensedebate.comon the change site. I feel they will also soon enable it on http://www.WhiteHouse.govas well, because I plan on joining the discussion over there myself .
And by the way, how many times exactly do you remember trying to get approved for the YouTube partner program? Is there like any minimal video requirements, such as needing to have like 50 videos minimum in order to be approved, or? Fill me in when you get a chance.
Thanks for hanging around,

reply to this commentHey Shawn –
I got in on my third try. I am not sure what changed with their requirements or my account, though.

reply to this commentHi Jay – I am surprised more people aren’t tapping into video. It’s easier that many probably think, and there are many ways to use it to earn money and get traffic to sites.

reply to this commentHow exactly would one go about becoming a YouTube Partner? It’s not like I want to make money off of it, but I have a video with over 600k views and I’d like some of that ad money..

It’s such an incredible opportunity…and even though the application process can be challenging…if you survive…it’s so worth it. congrats on making the mark! BY the way….love the music playlist for swimming harder. your youtube channel rocks.
reply to this comment@Miami SEO Company:
reply to this commentThanks – of all the benefits, I think the branding you can do with the header and other graphics are the best.
Btw, I’d love to pay attention to your video content, but it is very hard to focus when your cute kids are on it because they steal my attention.
reply to this comment@Ayako:
I brought on my little co-hosts, because I was filming those on Father’s Day.
I’ll keep them behind the camera, so they don’t steal the scenes in the future.
