LinkShare and RingRevenue have published a case study on the results from their pay-per-call platform, and early indications look good, including double-digit increases in lead production across a variety of media channels.
LinkShare advertiser ServiceMagic.com launched pay-per-call services in February, and by March requests for quotes climbed 23 percent, while requests for high-value services jumped an average of 506 percent.
Additionally, calls are converting at a rate of 72 percent, in contrast to their online conversion rates that typically range from 1 to 3 percent.

Is the Servicemagic pay per call program still active on LS? I saw it discontinued on CJ along with Angie’s List and most recently Terminix. Its seems the churn rate is very high and the terms are often changed on these pay per call offers. Why?
I’ve been curious about the service magic company for quite some time now. This has definitely helped peak that interest even more. I’m going to have to look into this more now.
That is a huge jump in quotes when they switched to pay per call. What is pay per call anyway? How did that work?
I haven’t heard anything about the raw data being released – only the study itself.
Very interesting case, any chance they released the raw data? I’d like to take a look at the guts
No need to get fresh; even though you’re right– you weren’t talking about those kind of calls at all. But I think everyone hates telemarketers enough that we can’t help but vehemently disclaim them at any chance. This looks like a good service. Certainly one worth looking into if your business includes a lot of customer phone time.
I never really knew that there was a pay-per-call type of campaign around. I always thought that there was just some pay-per-action or something like that which involved people filling out information into forms and stuff like that, not actually having to call them. Interesting stuff.
I would expect them to be less measurable. What makes you say that, Airtek?
Pay per call is an interesting way of doing it. I would assume that the results are much more measurable like pay per click
What constitutes a ‘high value service’? This pay per call platform seems to REALLY work for them.
Which calls do you hate… the type that have nothing to do with what I’ve written about?
Are you trying to get listed with ServiceMagic or are you asking about working with LinkShare and/or RingRevenue?
Who can I contact for more information on this?
i most heartedly agree. I hate those kinds of calls.
Hi,
We integrated LinkTrust with RingRevenue’s Pay Per Call platform about 9 months ago and so far we have several strong networks using it. Their responses have been overwhelmingly possitive about Ring Revenue’s platform.

These are not outbound calls to people – the potential customers are responding to ads with tracked phone numbers and calling ServiceMagic.com.
Who are they converting? Do people actually answer their calls? I certainly don’t, and I don’t think I’ve ever talked to anyone who found these kinds of calls extremely annoying.
Hi Shawn- thanks for the referral over to me!
newjersey- I can be reached direct at jkellerby@servicemagic.com to discuss any questions that you may have with the Pay per Call program. LinkShare oversees the campaign as part of the lead advantage program. I’m not sure who you spoke with, but I am your point of contact.
Jacqueline
Try reaching Jacqueline Kellerby at ServiceMagic – she is mentioned in the case study.
nice – so weird because i emailed service magics affiliate rep about this and she seemed to have no clue this even existed. I was not comfortable driving traffic to pages with non tracked phone numbers.
