Openads Primer for Affiliates

by on October 13, 2007

Oliver George of Openads has posted a useful FAQ for the free Openads adserver program as a follow-up to conversations they had with affiliates at Affiliate Summit London.

Openads - the web's largest ad-space communityHe addresses the following comments and questions:

  • Is Openads an ad network?
  • Can I target my ads to specific pages/sections within my site?
  • Can Openads manage advertising for many websites at once?
  • Can I manage CPA campaigns using Openads?
  • Scaling phpAdsNew was really hard!
  • Can Openads provide Forecasting/Availability?
  • Can Openads do X?

The latest version is Openads 2.4, and I’d say it’s one of the best tools for affiliates. It enables you to easily test and optimize campaigns, manage all of your affiliate activity in one place, and way more features than I can list here.

Go to http://www.openads.org/ for more information about Openads.

By the way, if you aren’t a big fan of installing things on your server, consider doing what I did – outsource it.

I worked with a guy named Denis from Bulgaria through Rent-a-Coder for the last two Openads upgrades. He was fast and well priced.
