Openads 2.4 – the Affiliate Ad Server
Thanks for visiting the Affiliate Tip blog. Subscribe to my RSS feed or enter your e-mail on the top left to get updates by e-mail.
I’m frequently asked by fellow affiliates about how to manage all of the banners for different affiliate programs. My answer always comes down to one solution – get Openads.
If you’re not familiar with Openads, it’s a free, open source ad server that enables affiliates to create campaigns for the affiliate programs they promote, compare performance through a variety of reports, and TEST.
The testing is the most important part to me – you can rotate lots of different ads in the same location on a site to determine which ones perform best for you.
If any affiliate programs just aren’t working for you, it’s a matter of a couple clicks to vaporize them from all of your sites through Openads.
So anyway, they’ve just announced the release of latest stable version, Openads 2.4.
This new release introduces some big improvements and new features:
- More control over ad space
- Simple and reliable upgrade process
- Faster ad serving capable of scaling to billions of ads each month
More details at http://blog.openads.org.
Also, Jeremy Schoemaker recently had Scott Switzer of Openads on the ShoeMoney Show on Webmaster Radio. Definitely worth a listen for more insight into OpenAds.

OpenAds is simply a tool to organize your affiliate ads. You can add in any banners you wish to run.
reply to this commentHi Shawn,
I just wanted to let you know that I have built a wordpress plugin that integrated Openads into your RSS feeds, so that you can easily display banner and textlink ads in your RSS feed.
I have also produced Openads howto screencasts.
