I came across an interesting tool called The Search Monitor that offers an interesting value proposition of monitoring your competitors, trademarks and affiliates. At first glance, I am not sure how it’s different from Andy Beal’s Trackur.
The features that most interested me, and I figure would get the attention of affiliate marketers, are naturally the affiliate monitoring tools.
It’s an impressive looking tool set. I unfondly recall, not so long ago, having to conduct all of this monitoring by hand when I was managing affiliate programs.
That was always a tricky proposition with the ways affiliates would cheat, such as dayparting and geotargeting, to hide from the eyes of affiliate managers.
Automating these tasks is a must for any affiliate manager that has the budget.
