The monthly AdMob Mobile Metrics report has been released with data from March 2008.
A couple observations from the March data:
- Network impressions increased 10.0% (2,553,018,899 for March vs. 2,321,477,067 for February).
- Requests increased 11.8% (2,865,167,969 for March vs. 2,562,527,510 for February).
- 24.5% of ad requests in their network worldwide were from Smartphones.

This is great data and excellent growth!
I think affilliate marketeers have found it difficult to enter the mobile market becuase of the lack of tools to help measure success and most importantly, as cookies aren’t reliable, there was no way to accurately identify unique users on the mobile web. Bango have recently enabled a real time, persistent unique ID to recognize these users as part of our analytics product. Now that the mobile web is being so widely adopted and the growth is so strong, I’d be intertested to hear if more affilliate marketing who have succeed on the desktop web will now look to replicate that success on the mobile web.
