Mobile Market Data for January 2008

The monthly AdMob Mobile Metrics report has been released with data from January 2008.

This month they report on share of the mobile market calculations based on requests and they also report the impressions by market to provide visibility into fill rates.

Also new in the January report from AdMob is trends tracking. They compile data from past reports to reveal trends in the mobile ecosystem through time. This month they begin by showing trends in manufacturer market share.

Some observations from the January 2008 data:

Network impressions increased 17.4% (2,374,844,534 for January vs. 2,023,094,821 for December)
Requests increased 23.5% (2,500,424,720 for January vs. 2,025,248,901 for December)
UK requests and impressions grew 19.9% in January over December. The UK passed South Africa and moved into the #3 market position.

I have always heard that one "should NOT pay to do paid surveys", how come you have a site that wants me to PAY in order to be included take these surveys?
Saying that there has to be a "fee", so that people can take the survey, is silly, because the companies involved, DO NOT endorse such a group.
