Minnesota Affiliates – Urgent Action Needed
It seems there is a new fire drill in a different state each day with advertising tax legislation. Tomorrow, Minnesota has a committee hearing to debate S.F. 282.
This bill is still in committee, so there is a good chance to kill it, just like Maryland SB 1071 a couple days ago, if Minnesota affiliates reach out to their State Senators today.
The Performance Marketing Alliance (PMA) has posted details on contacting MN State Senators and a letter template to send them.
I urge Minnesota affiliates to contact their State Senators with the letter from the PMA now.
Also, there is a hearing Thursday, April 16th, 8:30am in the Capitol Building. Please get out there to show your face and share your story.
If you’re there, please take some photos and send them to contact (at) feedfront.com. We are putting together a feature in the next issue (June 2009) of FeedFront magazine on affiliate marketers and the advertising tax bills around the country.
And LinkShare has provided another one of their affiliate maps to illustrate the prevalence of affiliates in Minnesota.
