September 1, 2005 – MaxBounty.com launches an open marketplace affiliate program network similar to Commission Junction, Linkshare, Befree and Kowabunga, only at a much more affordable price… namely no fees at all for 2005 and rates as low as 15% thereafter.
We’ve been on both sides of the affiliate/merchant relationship for some time, and sensed a growing dissatisfaction from both affiliates and merchants with the existing big networks. Basically the time was right for a new ultra-low fee network alternative.
Beyond the common functionality offered by all affiliate program solution providers, a unique feature to MaxBounty 2.0 is an option to advertise multiple websites under a single merchant account. With traditional affiliate networks, a merchant can advertise only a single website per costly account.
MaxBounty 2.0 enables merchants to promote multiple websites under one global affiliate program. So if a merchant wanted to promote three websites via his affiliate program, he wouldn’t have to pay for three separate accounts. He’d have one global affiliate program with 3 campaigns within it.
Benefits are that merchants don’t have to pay multiple set up fees, and their existing affiliate base for the first campaign can advertise the second and third without the merchant having to re-recruit them.
Facing the larger networks, it’s kind of a David vs Goliath situation for us, but we’re confident in our product and are sure that merchants will feel the same way. We decided to offer our services to merchants initially at no fee hoping they realize that they aren’t stuck with the high-fee monopolies that exist now.
An affiliate program paying 30% or more to a big network for simply providing an interface is ludicrous. These merchants should know that MaxBounty.com exists, can provide the exact same reporting and functionality the big network offer, and do it at a much more reasonable price.
The MaxBounty 2.0 system is very customizable. A merchant has settings to clearly allow or disallow email traffic, incentive traffic, or international traffic.
With the multiple campaigns option, a merchant can approve an affiliate for one campaign, but remove them from another, or pay different rates to different affiliates. MaxBounty 2.0 can handle affiliate programs that pay affiliates on CPA (cost-per-action), flat CPS (cost-per-sale) or paying a percentage of total sale amount.
We launched the site for pre-registration early to merchants so that we can have at least a short list of programs for our affiliates to partner with once we switch to the open marketplace.
We welcome merchants to drop their current networks and come to us for the risk-free no fee promotional period. We’re looking for a least a dozen merchants in the next week so, and plan to launch completely, making these merchant programs available to affiliates, shortly thereafter.
Affiliates can sign up too of course, but they will see the older existing MaxBounty interface for the next week or so.
MaxBounty.com is a cost-effective solution for performance-based affiliate marketing. We enable on-line companies to run their own successful affiliate program at rates far below the competition.
