LinkShare to Cease Support of SubID (Sub Affiliate) Tracking and Reporting

I got an e-mail this morning with the subject, “IMPORTANT Reminder: LinkShare not supporting SubID Reporting as of 2/23,” and my jaw dropped.

When I saw this, I thought LinkShare was booting out all of the loyalty and rewards affiliates. But in reading the second paragraph, I realized this was not the case:

We have determined that the SubID tracking and reporting feature is largely redundant to our Signature (also known as u1) product. Signature offers our affiliates the same ability to track affiliate referrals based upon their source, but Signature offers this capability in a more flexible and scalable manner.

I’ve used Signature for SubID tracking and didn’t realize there was another option, so I’d say the option that’s ending is indeed redundant.

Anyhow, they also stated that after February 23, SubID links will continue to function and track, but there will no longer be SubID reporting.
