LinkShare Listens, Kills CAPTCHA

Posted by Shawn Collins on March 16th, 2007 | 0 Comments

For the past few years or so, LinkShare has had a couple security features in place at the login that have frustrated affiliates.

LinkShare had required that affiliates change their password every 90 days and enter the correct sequence of characters in a CAPTCHA (Completely Automated Public Turing test to tell Computers and Humans Apart) image challenge.

But after receiving input from their Advisory Board members, LinkShare has removed those requirements.

LinkShare will continue to use SSL-encryption at login, and the Update Profile page is also secured using SSL-encryption.

Even though it’s no longer a requirement, LinkShare encourages affiliates to change their password every 90 days.

Affiliates that wish to update their password can log into their LinkShare account, select Update Profile from the Your Account tab, click on the Channel Contact (icon looks like a business card) from the Channel Manager, enter the new password, and then hit Submit.

Thanks for listening, LinkShare.
