Kindle 2 and iPhone – an Affiliate Opportunity

by on March 5, 2009

I was just reading a blog post from Scott Jangro about the new Kindle iPhone app and how he thinks it could be a “game changer.”

I’ve got to agree, but I’m thinking more along the lines of how the Kindle iPhone App can benefit affiliates of Amazon.

Kindle iPhone App

This new iPhone App enables people to use their iPhone as a Kindle, and it also works in tandem with the Kindle for anybody who has both.

I just got a Kindle 2 and I’ve got an iPod Touch, so I think there are some big possibilities here for enjoying my book downloads on multiple devices.

Kindle 2

So, there is not only a new frontier of affiliate sales for book downloads to new buyers of the Kindle 2, but also now for the iPhone and iPod Touch. And I’d imagine some people using the Kindle iPhone App will want to get a Kindle after experiencing it on their iPhone or iPod Touch.

Any affiliates that like to capitalize on new hotness should look into creating a blog focused on selling book titles for the Kindle through the Amazon affiliate program, and install the iWPhone plugin from ContentRobot, so you can sell to Kindle and iPhone/Ipod Touch users from the same site.

Yes, the iPhone app uses Whispersync so you can read it on the iPhone and then sync your Kindle back up to it.

Can’t believe how fast Kindle 2 came out. Kindle 2 rocks but I have never heard Readdle.

Your Message@IrishWonder:
I just got a Kindle and hadn’t investigated previous apps – did they sync with the Kindle the way this app does?

It is indeed changing things for Amazon affiliates – but Kindle for iPhone is not the first app of this kind – e.g. have you heard of Readdle and other similar applications?
