I caught up with Justin, CEO and Cameraman of Justin.tv, at ad:tech in San Francisco last week.

I asked Justin how he’s making money on Justin.tv, and he said they’re bringing on sponsorships. I took a look at the site and they’ve got two “sponsors” and six “partners”.

Plus there is a 160×600 banner running next to the live video. Now, how about some affiliate links on there?

Interesting concept there – and for anybody that’s wondering, Justin showed me how he can rotate the camera upwards, so the audience doesn’t have to participate in his visits to the bathroom.

If you’re not familiar with Justin.tv, here’s how Justin describes it…

Justin.tv is a live, 24/7 broadcast of my life from this camera (attached to a hat over his right ear). So you can go to Justin.tv and see me at any time doing what I’m doing at that time. In a couple weeks we are opening up the network to let anyone broadcast their own live video online. It’s interesting content created 24/7. We’re a huge content repository on the Web.

The really interesting ads are things like the movie posters in his (soon to be former) apartment. If you notice, they rotate like banners based on paid placements.

He also does Mike Wallace in 1962 style product placements and shout outs.

That’s the future (er… past?) of video.
