Jeff Molander shared his thoughts on the affiliate marketing community coming together at conferences at Affiliate Summit 2006 East.

We can agree, as an industry, on much more than we disagree on. Again, if you read blogs and trade publications in the media, there is all of this disagreement that yo see in the industry.

There are some fun and games there. It’s always great to disagree with each other. When you come together at a Summit like this, it’s so much different than it is on a blog, or through e-mail where it’s very easy to rifle off all of these not always well thought out conclusions.

You’re forced to actually engage people. So that’s my takeaway that we as an industry can agree on more than we disagree on if we just come together at events like this and talk about it.

That’s the only way to really master change is to really come together and address change.

And that doesn’t mean we always have to get along or agree with each other’s viewpoints. But we do have to listen to each other’s viewpoints.
