Intangibles for Selecting Affiliate Programs

by on October 7, 2008

I was thinking about the various reasons I pick affiliate programs to promote, and the focus is often about relevance to my audience, strength of the brand, commission potential, etc. during Affiliate Summit Social Media the other day.

As I watched Shashi Bellamkonda, Social Media Swami at Network Solutions, speak about leveraging social media, a light bulb popped up over my head.

Shashi Bellamkonda

Shashi is revolutionizing their customer service efforts via Twitter and other means, and that makes Network Solutions more attractive to me to promote over their competitors.

That sort of service to the customer makes a difference and gives me more confidence when referring people. Something to consider when picking the companies you promote.

Hi Shawn,

It was a honor to speak at the Affiliate Social Media Summit. My fellow panelists were so awesome and I am still recovering from all that knowledge :) This is one conference where every single person was taking notes all the timeas the presentations/ panels were full of executable ideas. I am glad I took a few pictures which are on my flickr feed. Not putting the URL but you can search for them as I have them tagged “affsum”

Hope I don't miss any of your future events.

Regards,

Shashi
