I Switched from Notes to NetworkedBlogs on Facebook

by on May 13, 2010

I’ve been importing the RSS of a number of my blogs into Notes on Facebook for a long while, but I have been increasingly frustrated with how my posts would take days – even a week or more sometimes – to be added to my Facebook profile and pages.

I liked how I could tag people in Notes, but the delay in posting was too much.

So, I asked lots of people what they were using, and got a lot of answers. But the one I heard most often was NetworkedBlogs.

I switched all of my RSS feeds a week or so ago to NetworkedBlogs, and I’ve been very pleased.

My posts are imported quickly, and I like how the link to the post takes the visitor to my blog, rather than a page on Facebook.

The page for the post on my blog is framed by a bar with social sharing options on Facebook and Twitter, as well as a Facebok “Like” button and a link to make comments.

There is also a link to a version of the blog with recent posts that resides within the application on Facebook.

Also, you can import more than one RSS feed to your profile and/or page, which wasn’t possible with Notes.

Please go and follow my blog on NetworkedBlogs.

Add you blog(s) to NetworkedBlogs. You need a Facebook account, but if you don’t have one, why are you still reading here?

I had been getting extremely frustrated lately with my blog posts not importing into Facebook in a timely manner–sometimes a week later and bunched up together. I switched my Twilight one over the weekend to NetworkedBlogs and it worked like a charm. Now I just need to do it for the others. I really like that people will actually see your blog and not just a copy of the post. Hoping this is as good as it seems so far!

Yeah, Facebook can be frustrating, and I had a tough time with NetworkedBlogs at first, because I blocked the application at some point, and couldn’t figure out why I couldn’t get to the app.

Shawn:

Your right. NetworkedBlogs is an excellent option.

Refer to my recent blogpost:

How To Add Your Blog’s RSS Feed To Facebook

By the way, Facebook is far from user friendly.

Good luck with it – I just saw they have an advertising option for $19.99 a month that I am trying out.

I’ll share the results of that down the road.
