How to Interview People for Podcasts

by on February 13, 2010

Susan Bratton is a real pro with her podcast, DishyMix, which I just recently added to my short list of podcasts I can’t miss.

masterful-interviewsI’d heard of Susan a while ago, but hadn’t given her a listen until she had Dr. Robert Cialdini on her show to talk about his keynote at Affiliate Summit West 2010.

As I looked at her back catalog of shows, I found tons I needed to catch up on with folks like Keith Ferrazzi, Tim O’Reilly, Steve Wozniak, and John Zogby. And just recently she had Jim Kukral on the show.

Anyhow, when listening to DishyMix, you’d think it was a real radio show. The editing is top notch, but also her interviewing style is impressive – not only compared to other podcasters, but radio and TV broadcasters.

So I was excited to see that Susan has put together a training system called Masterful Interviews that provides insights into interviewing people, as well as organizing and preparing to interview.

Masterful Interviews is targeted to information product marketers who want to create profitable content interviewing experts and interviewing JVs and Affiliates for promotion.

Her other product, Talk Show Tips: 72 Secret ‘Master Host’ Techniques is the same training, preparation, production and promotion of interview content, but customized for podcasters, radio and talk show hosts. They both look like really good tools for whether you’re an IM or podcaster, so I just ordered a copy.

Let’s see if she can make me masterful.
