Jim Kukral has pointed out a blog posting by Andy Beal that he considers to be “enormously powerful and helpful” and I wholeheartedly agree.
The post, titled “Five Secret Strategies to Add $1 Million in Revenue to your Interactive Marketing Agency in 2007,” is insightful for any agency folks, and the first four items are also very relevant to anybody in the affiliate marketing space.
Here are the strategies he fleshes out on his blog:
- Stand out from the crowd
- Write articles to establish your agency as a thought-leader
- Step-up to the microphone and be heard
- Hire a public relations firm
- Know the value of a big-brand client
Andy Beal states that the strategies “are tried and trusted. I have used them to help grow one firm to $25+ million in annual revenues and another to an annual run rate of $2+ million in its first year.”
One thing I’d like to add is the vitality of being persistent. This was driven home by the keynote address at Affiliate Summit 2006 East.
Jim Bouton, New York Yankee 20-game winner, best selling author, TV Sportscaster, actor, inventor, and businessman, delivered the keynote address at the Affiliate Summit 2006 East conference.
During his speech on July 10, 2006, Jim spoke about the secret of success in this excerpt.

For many in this profession stepping up to the microphone is the biggest weakness. Often times this will separate the extremely successful from the moderately successful.
Great post. I think sometimes we forget how important it is to “Step-up to the microphone and be heard”. I sometimes get too comfortable behind my computer screen and lose sight of what’s really important… building relationships!
Thanks
