Google AdSense: King Maker and Dragon Slayer

MarketingVOX is reporting that Google booted IncrediMail from AdSense without explanation.

IncrediMail creates software allowing clients to customize emails and had been generating revenue by placing AdSense ads within those emails. Indeed, earnings from AdSense ads are reported to have contributed greatly to the company’s revenue.

Neither Google nor IncrediMail has commented on the move. Google simply issued a statement confirming that it had disabled IncrediMail’s AdSense account.

Subsequently, IncrediMail’s stock dropped by 40% when the announcement of their termination from AdSense came out, according to TechCrunch.

What should you learn from this? It’s time to diversify… NOW. There are tons of affiliate programs out there, so don’t sabotage yourself by focusing on a single revenue stream.
