Lisa Picarille, Jim Kukral, Shawn Collins and Sam Harrelson dig into the latest polarizing subjects in affiliate marketing and beyond during episode 23 of the weekly GeekCast.

Much of this show focused on a lively thread on the ABestWeb forum on the Performance Marketing Alliance, an effort to create an organization that represents the affiliate marketing industry.

Also some talk on a new blog network from Technorati, and the browser wars. Internet Explorer 7 causes some Flash related frustration, and Firefox 3 rolls out.

Then it turns to a discussion of capitalism vs anarchy with a discussion of metered Internet access and people that illegally download music.

Plus, we go back to talk of whether there should be an area of YouTube dedicated to business content, and the desperation of the Associated Press to control the game in a quickly changing news environment.

Finally, after Lisa bows out, the guys talk about WordPress plugins, whether sitemaps are necessary, and switching over a site from manual page creation to a WordPress blog.

Some random references to Rodney King on Celebrity Rehab, Secret Diary of a Call Girl on Showtime, and the horrors of mandals round things out.
