How do I find companies that have affiliate programs?

One thing you could do is just go into Google and search for “affiliate directory.” You’ll then see a list of the leading affiliate directories, which you can use to find companies by name and category that offer affiliate programs.

Also, you could go to the bigger affiliate networks, such as Commission Junction, Kolimbo, LinkShare, Performics, ShareASale, zanox, etc.

Personally, I go to the companies I want to promote with the hope that they have an affiliate program.

Te quickest way to find out if they have an affiliate program is to take a look at the footer of their Web site. Generally, they will have a link that says “Affiliate Program” or “Affiliates” that leads to details about their affiliate program.

Additionally, check the search engines for the category you are seeking. So if you are looking for affiliate programs that sell shoes, search for shoe affiliate in the search engines.

Those techniques ought to help you find the information you need.

A better question (something you can consider for a future post) – how can you find a performing program?

You’ll prolly say test: but how far/what are the parameters will you have for your test?

Absolutely. You’re not going to find a list of performing affiliate programs anywhere.

Also, an affiliate program that performs well is in the eye of the beholder.

I use the EPC and eCPM of the other programs i am promoting as a benchmark.

After a test, if a given affiliate program doesn’t equal or surpass the average numbers from the other campaigns I am promoting, I stop promoting it.

  3. The attractive and exciting idea about joining affiliate programs is that they give you everything you need to start generating internet income right away. Well that is how it seems anyway. You get your own custom affiliate website, banners and pre-written ad, a list of online advertising hot spots, etc. They say all you need to do is plug in and profit. Does it really happen that way? Not usually!
