The March/April 2007 issue of Revenue magazine is now hitting subscriber’s mailboxes and newsstands.
The feature story is “Do Your Metrics Measure Up,” about making sense of the metrics on your site. Other articles cover hiring affiliate marketing talent, Kellie Stevens investigating badware, and a profile of affiliate, Judi Moore.
Some other items covered in the latest issue of Revenue magazine include some data from the AffStat 2007 Report, the latest in search engine marketing, Ros Gardner on the power of list building, and Sam Harrelson gets Twitterific.
The Spider (Revenue’s resident gossip arachnid) is heavy on CPA networks with some venom (not really venom - just a lame spider reference) towards Azoogleads.com and CPA Empire.
There is a reference to Overstock CEO Patrick Byrne, which is something of a regular part of the column, as well as some spider bites on Jeff Molander, Beth Kirsch, and TaxBrain.com.
One thing I always do with each issue of Revenue, which I don’t do when reading other publications, is to check out the advertisements. My unscientific observation is that there are a lot less of the full page ads with big wads of cash. Those cheeseball ads, which were a hallmark of past issues, are thankfully going extinct.
However, there are still some doozies in there. The ad most deserving of a place at the bottom of the bird cage is on page 44 of this issue. It’s from TheAffiliated.net and it’s got a “Godfather” theme. Apparently, they have “Payouts that will blow you the @#$%! away!”
They also claim, “We’ll make you an offer you can’t refuse.” Oh brother.
Now if you want to see some top flight ads, check in to pages 85 and 103. Happy reading.
