Dear California, Meet the People of Affiliate Marketing

Many folks in the affiliate marketing space are banding together with the common cause of fighting California Assembly Bill 178 aka the advertising tax.

Yesterday, Mark Kirschner, Chief Marketing Officer of LinkShare, shared a letter with me that LinkShare is sending to each of the key California assembly members, as well as handing out copies in meetings in Sacramento next week.

The letter makes a compelling case for the assembly members to vote no on 178, and it includes the creative from LinkShare’s popular ad campaign where they put a face on affiliates, as well as five pages of cities in California where affiliates of LinkShare reside.

Mark mentioned that Beth Kirsch should get credit for the idea of including the ads.

It’s great to see so many in the industry rallying together.
