Data as Content for Affiliates

Thanks for visiting the Affiliate Tip blog. Subscribe to my RSS feed or enter your e-mail on the top right to get updates by e-mail.

I just came across a site called Ask500People, that enables anybody to gather input and opinion data online in a matter of minutes.

Recently, I asked the question, “Do you click on advertisements on the Internet?“.

In a few minutes, people from across the world entered their votes for a tally of 26% saying yes and 74% selecting no.

Ask500People

Ask500People could have lots of uses for affiliates by asking questions about products, services, etc. I can see it supplementing content, providing insight into popular gift ideas, etc.

But it’s not just about gathering data. Ask500People is also a fun social media tool. As the votes are collected, a live world map indicates the location of each voter.

Voters can also make comments on any given question in the system. I’ve found it pretty addictive to watch how votes go, as well as debating people with opposing views in the comments area.

Currently, you can ask a question for free, but they have a Premium Service, too.

I am only a budding affiliate marketer (brand newbie), but my business experience is such that I can tell a good thing when I see it.

This post is a VERY good thing! (I hope I don’t sound like Martha Stewart…)

Cool social/market research tool. I will be using it!

Take care, and thanks for the great content on this blog. I have been a reader for quite some time…

    Hey Shawn,

Thanks for the coverage! We’re going to keep improving the site, if you or your readers have ideas we’d love to hear them.
