eBook sales are exploding, according to ClickBank, which is great news for affiliates, especially because eBooks typically pay many times more in commission than physical books.
Just last night at The Austin Internet Marketing Meetup – SEO/SEM/SMO/PPC, I was chatting with an affiliate about how meager the commissions are for books, and that eBooks can be for more lucrative.
The numbers from ClickBank are pretty compelling, as they say “eBook sales nearly doubled in 2010 and industry predictions expect these percentages to continue to climb in 2011, tripling by 2015.”
The eBook opportunity for affiliates is on the heels of the recent ClickBank announcement that they had partnered with iAmplify to provide new video and audio product options for affiliates to promote.
As bookstores shutter all around the U.S., while eBook sales surge, the trend is pretty clear.

For a novel or something like that, I wouldn’t prefer an ebook; but for a guide, a case study, a tutorial I will always prefer ebooks. And since almost all the ebooks that are sold through Clickbank are either guides or courses, I can understand the rise in the sales.
e-book affiliation is good but I think people get most books for free. Would you suggest anything else.

Well still trying to figure things out a bit.
I’ve been reading blogs after blogs, the good ones, the bad ones and observing very closely what are the products most commonly promoted, and the way they’re promoted, trying to figure out a niche which I can dive in. I think ebooks are great and I’m trying to carve out that niche from ebooks with unique contents to promote.

Thanks for the reminder to consider e-book affiliation. I have a nice response to paper books via Amazon sales even if the commission is low. In contrast I have only sold my own e-books never affiliated with another person or organization like Clickbank. But thanks to you I will check it out again.
