Twitter Me This Alamo

April 18th, 2008 · Comments

I just returned from doing some business in San Antonio. While I was there, I dropped by the Alamo and the Battle of the Alamo resonated with me.
It reminded me of some battles going on lately in the affiliate marketing space regarding Twitter Me This.
Some folks wonder why I would criticize a popular game on [...]

Obama Defeats Hillary in Sticker Election

April 17th, 2008 · Comments

I was just checking out some press releases from affiliate programs I promote, and noticed a provocative press release from StickerGiant (they have an affiliate program on CJ).
According to John Fischer, owner and founder of StickerGiant.com, stickers for Barack Obama are outselling Hillary Clinton stickers by a factor of 2 to 1.

Jim Kukral on Twitter

April 13th, 2008 · Comments

I wondered aloud the other day, Is Jim Kukral Killing Twitter?, and he had a strong chorus of defenders (who all seemed to have won money from the TwitterMeThis scheme).
So, I did a little research and came up with some very telling remarks Mr. Kukral previously posted on his blog. I submit them into evidence [...]

The backlash against Jim Kukral’s social media list building effort is growing, and now puppets are getting into the act.

The footage is a little disturbing, as the Jim puppet [...]

Backup Your Affiliate Business

April 11th, 2008 · Comments

I have lost count of the number of times I’ve been tortured by the prospect of losing my Outlook .pst or key business files.
I was aware of backing up files for a long time, but blew it off until a little while back when the latest in a series of friends experienced a fried [...]

Is Jim Kukral Killing Twitter?

April 11th, 2008 · Comments

I’ve been immersed in the Twitter culture for quite some time, and I really enjoy the brief exchanges there with friends and colleagues.
I think it is a dynamic environment that is part conversation and part networking tool. There are no rules, but I’d say there are some unwritten rules, like don’t be overtly promotional.
Recently, Jim [...]

April 9th, 2008 · Comments

Big announcement on TechCrunch that Flickr is now hosting video. So far, I’m really digging it - easy to upload a number of videos at once and great quality (compared to YouTube and others).
Currently, videos can be as long as 90 seconds and up to 150MB in size. Only Flickr users with Pro accounts can [...]
