Camera Upgrade for Better Blog Pictures

by on April 21, 2009

I recorded a podcast with Deborah Carney (a.k.a. Loxly), “Photography for Webmasters – Tips and Equipment”, last month and mentioned how I wanted to get a Casio Exilim EX-FH20 that I’d seen in Skymall magazine while on a flight.

Well, I’ve gotten the Casio Exilim EX-FH20 and it will be my main camera for pictures posted to my Flickr account, as well as videos I post to YouTube.

Taking a picture of my new camera with my old camera

While I’ve really enjoyed my little Casio Exilim EX-Z1200, it doesn’t come close to stacking up to the features of the Casio Exilim EX-FH20. I’m upgrading from a 3x optical zoom to 20x, as well as big improvements in many other areas.

One thing I’ll miss is the convenience of a camera that fits in my pocket, but quality beats size this time around.

This camera was a little more than $500 on Amazon.

Nice camera… I am looking to upgrade shortly. How much did this camera set you back?
