Call to Affiliate Marketers – Help Fight California Assembly Bill 178

by on March 20, 2009

The Performance Marketing Alliance is leading a grass-roots campaign to fight California Assembly Bill 178, a copy-cat of the NY bill that targeted affiliates.

With the support of the California Chamber of Commerce and the California Taxpayers Association, they think they have a strong chance of defeating this bill.

But we need the help of affiliate marketers of all strikes – affiliates, merchants, OPMs, netorks, etc.

If the bill becomes law in California, it is likely to be adopted by other states, a domino effect that couple cripple our entire industry.

But if we beat this bill, the likelihood of adoption in other states will be diminished.

Please help to spread the word – blog it, retweet it, video it, podcast it, etc.

The clock is ticking – we just have until March 31st to complete our grass-roots campaign.

Here it comes as predicted. this is going to be a state by state land grab to find money. it is imperative that everyone get going and rally around the PMA and fit this.

This is a very serious issue and due to the PMA’s great efforts we have a good chance at stopping this dead in its tracks.

CA is in the top 3 of states with the largest affiliate marketing population.

More salve in the eyes from the government when it comes to us small home-based business owners.

I am in this with both feet, Shawn. Thanks for the heads up.
