There is a new service called Prfessor that enables you to create your own online university.
This could be a really interesting and lucrative opportunity for somebody with a wealth of original content.

The system enables you to publish courses in whatever area you’re focused on and charge students through a Paypal or Authorize.net account.
I am taking a look at Prfessor as a potential platform for videos from Affiliate Summit.

This sounds like a very interesting concept. If I had the funds, I would definitely consider doing this.
Thanks Debbi -
I was wondering why classroom was prominent, instead of university – maybe it’s the liability?
Shawn, yes, I received a prelaunch notice regarding this. When I saw the site, I immediately thought of the legal issues that might be attached to using the term ”university.” Whenever that term is used, or if the verbiage “professor” “certificate” or other related terms are utilized, there could be legal constraints due to various state regulations (and, perhaps, those at the federal level). I wish them well and hope they are using a good attorney who will safeguard them and the people who utilize their platform. As you know, I am not an attorney and do not ever give any legal advice but have researched and written on consumer protection issues for years. I also have seen the FTC examining verbiage and how it is used very closely in what it deems to be “misleading” (even though others might disagree with the label in certain cases). Some honest endeavors have experienced problems just because of the terminology used.
Yeah, I guess if you have the right content, you could build a serious property with this.
Great technology and a novel ideal. I have a brother in law that has wanted to create an online school for years but didn’t have the technical background.
