I was just listening to the audio of Brian Clark’s keynote address at Affiliate Summit West 2010, and I was reminded that he was heckled by somebody in the crowd during his talk.
The heckling came after Brian mentioned that Rock Me Amadeus from Falco was the only song in German to chart at number one in the U.S.
After he stated this information, a woman shouted out the 99 Luftballons from Nena also hit number one.
Sorry to tell you, Nena fan, but 99 Luftballons topped out at #2.
Also, the keynote helped me remember I wanted to buy some music from Girl Talk.
Anyhow, lots of great information in the keynote, and I’d definitely recommend listening to it again or for the first time.

So glad you posted about this, because, I rewound that segment several times trying to figure out what exactly had happened.
But Nina was better looking and her song was more popular with kids ages 12-16.
Thanks Missy. Guess I should get my facts straight before mouthing off. I was sure that their story was that they grew up in British prep schools and were rebelling with the outfits in AC/DC.
Brian did a great job with his keynote and a great job handling the unsolicited comment from the audience. His keynote is definitely something you get more out of each time you listen to it.
Great job, Brian.
To the heckler…BURN!
@Rob
AC/DC is definitely an Australian band. Angus and Malcolm although born in Scotland, lived in Australia when they founded the band.
I also found it funny that he mentioned the ACDC was an Australian band.
Definately British.
