Affiliate Video Treats from Magnify.net

by on October 4, 2007

Magnify.net, the site that enables affiliates to build and monetize video communities, has released a bunch of enhancements.

New Widgets and Engagement Elements:

Magnify.net

  • The “Magnify This” video grabber browser bookmarklet transforms channel admins and visitors into content curation deputies by allowing them to embed a video from any of the most popular video sites into a magnify channel with a single click. (Or you can just put this on your browser, and have a one click admin tool).
  • The home page mini-player module allows channels to show a pre-selected video when visitors arrive. You can set this mini-player to start as soon as the page is loaded, or let people play it on demand.
  • Video counters can display view counts in thumbnail displays for all to see.

New Admin Customization Features:

  • Curation logins are expanded with new “Editor” account feature, giving multiple users the ability to manage and sort videos.
  • Icon customization gives admins the ability to replace the Magnify.net navigation icons with their own customized images. This tool allows for upload and storage of both normal and active images in JPEG and GIF format, for full control of the navigation toolbar’s appearance.
  • Site admin’s image upload tool enables creativity, giving admins more control over the customization of their channels with uploaded custom graphic elements.
  • Live preview during color customization makes it easier to see how your choices will look.

Other New Features:

  • User controllable thumbnails offer the ability to replace the thumbnails with an alternative graphic image to represent each video.
  • An improved playlists page, with two-column layout and “recently popular” view.
  • New “invite a friend” link in the home page “tools” module makes it easy for your visitors to share the channel with other people.
  • Upgraded video encoder improves synchronization of audio and video when users upload files with “variable bit rate” codecs.

I must admit, I love Magnify.net! Publishers can create new content for their sites, encourage users to come back, and most importantly, generate new advertising inventory!
