I did read about that issue when ebay sued the people. Cookie stuffing is a bad thing no matter what other people say, and this should be proof that everyone needs to do things the nice, ethical way. There will be consequences if we don't follow the rules.

Thanks for the information, Linda. I would have sworn there was a dash in there.
Hi guys, just finally got a chance to listen. The name is BEU (like beautiful) KAY. (Shawn said it right.) But anything works, even Linda B as Kellie noted – just don't call me Bucket!
Oh and my HIGHLY memorable (0r so I thought) domain name is 5starAffiliatePrograms.com
When I 1st blogged about this, all that was up at Justia was #1, the case filing.
There have been 18 new developments filed since the initial case filing – including formal summons issued on each person. Shawn's summons was issued 8/26 and he has 20 days from that day to respond to the charges. So he'll have to do something soon.
One noteworthy change: Ebay declined to have the case tried before a U.S. Magistrate Judge and Requested for Reassignment to a United States District Judge on Sept 3rd. On Sept 4th that request was granted and the case has been moved to a United States District Court. (not sure about the significance here, but to me it sounds like eBay bumped it up to a higher level court, no?)
I think most people caught the original story at my blog – but the forum is where I am adding commentary and updates.
5 Star FORUM eBay Cookie Stuffing Case
For any of you that run forums, there is also some info in that thread about some work I did with Vbulletin corporate and some discussions I had at the Vbulletin forum about adding some safeguards so Vbulletin forum owners can prevent cookie stuffing.
I also have documented information I've been I providing to forum owners about this particular type of mass cookie stuffing Shawn et all were allegedly using and ways to prevent it. This all stems from a related story on forum cookie stuffing I did back in June. Warning – Affiliate Cookie Stuffing Forum Trick – Stealing Sales
