I just got back from Affiliate Summit Social Media in New York. This was our first niche event, where the content was focused on leveraging social media in affiliate marketing.
The keynote was delivered by social media and blogging expert, Don Crowther.
Tons of great information jammed into Don’s presentation. We videotaped it, and it will be posted up at AffiliateSummit.tv in the coming weeks, along with the other sessions.
I was live Tweeting the conference, and you can see my coverage, as well as Tweets from other folks at the show at http://search.twitter.com/search?q=affsum.
Jim Kukral was the Emcee and Moderator of the panels and kept the day moving along.
After the keynote, there were four panels covering video, social media case studies, monetizing social media, and working with social networks.
Steve Rosenbaum, CEO and Founder of Magnify.net captures Melissa Salas, Director of Marketing for Buy.com with his Flip camera during the “Gain Friends and Influence, With Video” session at Affiliate Summit Social Media.
Emcee Jim Kukral moderates the Social Media Case Studies session at Affiliate Summit Social Media with James Keating, VP of Marketing at ShopWiki, Michael Jenkins, CEO/Founder of MarketLeverage, and Jivan Manhas, President of Advaliant, a Division of MediaTrust.
Shashi Bellamkonda, Social Media Swami at Network Solutions speaks on the Making Social Media Make Money panel at Affiliate Summit Social Media with Jay Berkowitz, CEO of Ten Golden Rules and Larry Bailin, CEO of Single Throw Internet Marketing.
This was the only panel where the speakers used slides – see the presentations from Shashi Bellamkonda, Jay Berkowitz, and Larry Bailin.
“Leveraging Social Networks” at Affiliate Summit Social Media with Sachin Agarwal, President & CEO of Dawdle.com, Zac Johnson, President / CEO of MoneyReign Inc., and Adam Alter, Head of Network Management at Epic Advertising.
Thanks for everybody who came out. It was a different dynamic from the usual Affiliate Summits, where we have thousands of people, multiple tracks, and an exhibit hall across three days.
Affiliate Summit Social Media was a more intimate setting with a cap of 300 people.

Looks like great stuff. I can't wait for the videos to see all the cool stuff I unfortunately missed!
Do you have any idea what the next niche topic show will be on?
reply to this commentSup Shawn! It was great having the chance to meet you. We had some great conversation at the Share A Sale party. Hope to see you at ASW!
reply to this commentNot sure – we're thinking of doing a whole different format with a couple smaller shows next year. Details to come.
reply to this commentGreat to see you yesterday, Benny. We need to get a NJ get together going – lots of affiliates out this way.
reply to this commentShawn great having everyone in nyc. the show was very informative and jim did an excellent job of MCing. it makes it very clear that our industry is just scratching the surface and the social channel is on its way to being very big for affiliate marketers.
