Advice for anyone coming with co-workers who want close rooms –

Check in at the same time.

I was supposed to be next door to Karen and Joel, my business partners. I requested this throughout booking.

I checked in early in the am and they assigned my room then. They checked in later and they put them in the other tower.

Should have kept insisting I guess… then they told me I could have an adjoining room if I was cool with a smoking room (not) with no Internet (double not)

which explains why the AffiliateFitClub walk was discontinued after day 1. After we figured how many miles we were walking anyway…seemed a bit unnecessary

I didn’t know there were closer conference rooms.

Nice call though… the Rio was the best to date in Las Vegas.

Now… if I can just convince you to start the Meet Market at 12:30 all would be right with the world.

I sorta liked the long distance between the conference rooms and the main part of the hotel… it gave me a few mins to either make a last minute phone call/text/tweet or clear my mind before jumping into the madness of the floor.

Not sure why people were bitching about that so much… we could all stand to do an extra 5 min walk!

We actually did work a couple Segways into the agreement.

And we will be in the conference rooms closer to the main hotel this time.

Yeah, the Rio is a good choice. Getting a fleet of Segways this time? I’m going to rent a golf cart and charge a $5 fee to drive people down and back from the show area.

I would have loved Phoenix as well for a change, but if Vegas is the place people want to go, I have to say that I did enjoy the Rio.

It’s pretty nicely self contained, my room was awesome and I think the fact that it is a tad off the strip probably helped with attendance.

Glad to hear it, Shawn. Even though I was pulling for Phoenix, I thought the Rio was a great place for the show and was easy walking distance to the Palms and just a quick cab ride to the Strip.

Looking forward to more jaegers at the American Bar and Grille in ’09.
