Affiliates are always looking for indicators on whether the affiliate programs they are promoting are performing well. One measure of affiliate program performance is the conversion rate.
I collected data on conversion rates for both per lead and per sale affiliate programs for the latest AffStat report on affiliate benchmarks.
Below are the conversion rates for pay per sale affiliate programs, as reported by affiliate managers.

These numbers represent a range of affiliate programs from small, niche companies to the biggest retailers.

I'm afraid I don't have any data there.
The 2008 Affstats report is very good Shawn. Have you run across any data on the success retailers have had on cross-selling inbound affiliate traffic? I'm curious if the number of items per transaction is higher or lower for affiliate traffic.

I think they are affiliate managers who should be ex-affiliate managers.
It's one thing that they didn't know it, but then they were too lazy to find out for the future when prompted by that question?
I'd consider that some vital information about their affiliate program.
errrm. 11% of affiliate managers don't know the conversion rates of their programs? What do you suppose lends itself to that? Or did you just catch them in the bathroom at Affiliate Summit? ;p
