Affiliate Music Widgets

by on March 28, 2008

LinkShare Flex Links are being used in a neat way by Beatport, a digital music store with DJ-quality club music, who is enabling affiliates to put music their sites.

The Denver-based company has developed a widget that’s embedded with via LinkShare’s Flex Link technology.

Affiliates can post the widgets on their website, blog, and social network profiles. The widget can hold up to 100 tracks from Beatport’s library of independent labels.

I think it is good experience for the end user.

I can’t speak to reasons for limits, but would presume there was testing behind it.

What’s so cool about it? Give me a real API. Why place an imaginary limit like 100 on me?

As long as the widget doesn’t auto play like the dawn of midi’s on websites, that’s pretty dang cool!
