Affiliate Fatblogging: Swimming Laps with My iPod Touch

by on May 27, 2009

I am very excited. I was at the pool yesterday and saw this guy swimming laps with headphones on.

He had an armband with his iPod Touch secured and waterproof, and I knew right away I needed to get that setup, so I could bring some music and podcasts to my swim workouts.

As soon as I dried off, I headed over to the local Apple Store to get my gear.

There was one one style of these things at the store – the H20 Audio Amphibx Waterproof Armband.

So, I got one for my iPod Touch. I think it’s going to be a little bulky and goofy, but that’s the price I have to pay for water audio.

Yeah, I could get a smaller one and use a Nano or something, but I don’t feel like bothering with another MP3 player.

Anyhow, this flashy armband is pricey – it was $80 at the Apple Store. But wait, there’s more!

The H20 Audio Amphibx Waterproof Armband requires special headphones, and they cost another $60.

I am sure these items or competing brands are available online for a better deal, but I needed to have this contraption in my hands right away.

OK, off to the pool.

Looks like I was a sucker for my price. :)

Great idea Shawn. I use the SnapSights H2O Man USB 2.0 256MB Waterproof MP3 Player for my water aerobics. Love it, especially when it drowns out the screaming kids in the pool. Think I paid $36.99 on Amazon last year.

Wow! That’s a neat little gadget there but as you mentioned, quite pricey.

I don’t typically create landing pages – I just include relevant affiliate links within my content.

It’s not too late for you to take lessons.

Your Message@James Seligman:
I swim laps for a half hour. Not so long, but a lot more pleasant to have entertainment.

So Shawn. When are you going to put up a landing page to promote this concept and your favorite products?

I wish swimming was a workout option. Unfortunately, my very first swim teacher threw me into the pool when I was 6. I then bit her chest and locked myself in the shower room. Because of that, I never learned to swim……

I’m curious Shawn, how long do you swim for that you would need your iTouch/MP3 player?
