I am proud to say I can fit into my skinny jeans. OK, well actually, I don’t own skinny jeans. I only wear regular jeans.
But one result I’m seeing from increased exercise is a reduction in the waist size. I’d been noticing that pants were more comfortable, and then I went swimming last Friday in a new bathing suit in the same size I’ve been wearing for years.
Halfway into the first lap, they were literally falling off of me, and I had to do a weird stroke that including hiking them up constantly.
Even if I had to skinny dip and get arrested, I was going to finish my workout.
Also, it’s nice to see a lot of other affiliate marketers posting on their blogs about getting fit. Some that I’ve noticed include Tim Jones, Jonathan Volk, Tyler Cruz, James Seligman (oops, did I say Rich in the video?), and Shawn Drewry.
Maybe we can finally get some sort of organized challenge going here with free passes to Affiliate Summit to people who set and met their goals. Interested?

I started doing the P90X workouts and saw a decrease in inches within a week. Same weight so far, but gotta keep remembering that “muscle weighs more than fat”.
Haha, “unconventional swim stroke”….
Yeah, I’ve been noticing that my jeans have been riding lower lately, and I’m constantly having to pull them back up. I don’t want to become one of those teens that wear their pants around their ankles so maybe I’ll have to do some shopping in the not-too-distant future!
Congrats on the weight loss. I would have liked to see the new swim stroke that you created to keep your trunks up; probably was a funny site to see. Too bad you don’t really have skinny jeans, because the satisfaction you derive from actually being able to FIT back into them is own that can’t be expressed in words.
good job Shawn, keep the fight going brother.
James is a friend of mine. I joined a gym last week on my birthday, and my goal is 40 lbs by august. James’ bday is coming up at the end of the month. Come on James, we can do this!
Your Message@James Seligman:
Sorry about that – some day I’ll make notes for myself, instead of trying to rely on my memory.
Maybe it was the other “rich” I was thinking about – Cash Money Seligman!
My name maybe really James, but I’m “Rich” in life and in other ways…lol
Also, that was definitely more information they we needed to know with the “wardrobe malfunction”
Keep up the good work,
James “Rich” Seligman
Your Message@Ayako:
Chair dancing? I think we need some video for that one.
How about a brisk walk during lunch while listening to podcasts?
I gained about 20lbs since moving to the States because I no longer walk… I started doing these below a few months ago and I am losing some fat. I can’t swim, so that is not my option….
1) Wii Fit – I also get to compete my results with my kids
2) Chair dancing exercise – trust me it works
3) Started eating more fish, rather than meat – This is easy since I am Japanese
4) Do not eat anything after 9 p.m.
5) Take stairs and park far to walk
These are all fun thing for me and it is easy to do. I can’t do all the sweaty gym workout.
Your Message@Steve Hall:
I guess I only know the post fatblogging without a blog Steve Hall then.
Nice job, but next time at SXSW make room for BBQ!
Congrats, Shawn! I fatblogged a couple years ago. OK, i didn’t blog it but I did go from 210 to 180. Then, SXSW took me down to 172. Now I’m about 182. I think 180 is my norm now though I’s like 170 to be my norm.
Congratulate, for able to fit into your skinny jeans, and thanks for the link to all those affiliate marketers…
Thanks for the mention! I am working on a good idea for the affiliate summit stuff as we speak. Great job with your loss so far!
