Affiliate Fatblogging, Episode 12

by on February 5, 2008

This is the Super Bowl edition of Affiliate Fatblogging. The reason is that I am taking the week of for my regular weigh in, because I enjoyed plenty of beer, pizza, etc. as I watched the Giants upset the Patriots.

Lots of calories in that one day, so I figured it’s not really a good time to weigh in.

That leads me to a discussion on lifestyle. I am following the Weight Watchers core plan to lose weight, and I think that is a great program to adjust to a healthier way of life.

In general, I am following the guidelines of Weight Watchers, but I occasionally fall off the wagon and have some fun junk food.

And I really think I need to do it that way to sustain a mostly healthy lifestyle for the long term.

Fruit and vegetables all day every day might be great for my health, but I am happier if I can go a little crazy at White Castle or a pizzeria in NYC once in a while.

Anyhow, on Super Bowl Sunday, I guess it was the equivalent of a sack for my typical eating habits. Sort of like how Tom Brady was sacked so many times by the Giants.

But most days, I eat like a champ – a healthy menu that would make the Giants proud.

OK, enough of the forced metaphors to taunt the Pats fans (hi Lisa Picarille! – classy how Belichick didn’t even stick around for the final snap).

Back to the fatblogging. I think it’s really important to have some balance with most healthy stuff, but some fun foods as part of a lifestyle.

I’ve tried the strict, short-term diets and I’ve never been able to maintain the initial weight loss when I returned to a normal routine.

Starting weight: 216

Congrats on your currentsuccess.
Great that the weight watchers program teaches you long term sustained weight loss.

Just to mention a diet plan that is increasingly popular. This is a plan that allows you to eat up to 6 times a day. It highlights the use of calorie burning foods ie foods that it takes more energy for your body to process them than they actually contain. A very popular example is grapefruit.
