Hi Franklin -

Thanks for the suggestions - I'm afraid that's not really practical for me.

Long work days and time with wife and four kids makes three hours of exercise per day impossible.

I've been happy with my progress so far using the combination of cardio in the gym, healthy diet and lots of water.

Now if only I could stop working at 11:50 each night, because I get midnight snack cravings.

Hey Shawn - I saw the "fatblogging" thing and I thought it was about some new web 2.0 thing, but now I realize you are talking about weight. I was at 216 in 2004, but in 2 years I got it down to 185. I have been at that weight since then, and seem to be able to maintain it well. How did I do it?

I did it by walking a lot. Just walking, and perhaps just cutting down on snacks like you describe in the birthday post, but I still have some pepsi and crackers with cheese when I watch the sports and stuff.

I recommend that you take the ipod, strap the notebook into the back pack, and hook up all the stuff, and walk while you talk to people. Walk all over the place for a minimum of 3 hours every day.

Oh, it helps to have a job at UPS, but that is just a small inconvenience. Just pretend you are delivering packages! After the first few days, strap some weights on to the legs and wrists. This provides extra calorie burning benefits. (I just carry packages)

Weight watchers is great so I hear, and I wish you well, but I really recommend the walking thing. It works.
