Advertising Tax Fails in Minnesota

by on May 15, 2009

Great news out of Minnesota for affiliates – their version of the advertising tax has not passed, according to the Performance Marketing Alliance.

Kudos to super affiliate and super person Connie Berg of FlamingoWorld.com for her efforts in fighting the legislation.

LinkShare mapped out the locations of affiliates in the “Land of 10,000 Lakes”.

The LinkShare blog also features a map of affiliates in Tennessee, where the General Assembly in Nashville has introduced two advertising tax bills, SB 1741 in the Senate and HB 1947 in the House.

These bills were scheduled to be heard earlier this week. More details to come when they are available.

As a former Minnesotan, I must say that Connie Berg, whom I am not familiar with, must be a great spokesperson. Minnesota is not only know as land of 10,000 lakes, but also Land of 10,000 Taxes. Kudos to you Connie, it couldn’t have been easy.

My hat is off to you.
